Paul Palmer: ROADS Program Success

ServiceSource DE employee Paul Palmer will tell you that the ROADS Program is well worth looking into if you need help with your finances. His goal was to access low-cost health coverage (Medicaid) to avoid paying a penalty of nearly $325 or 2% of his income when he filed his taxes. Every year he had saved his tax refund, but the new insurance law penalty put this practice in jeopardy.

Paul sought help through ServiceSource Delaware’s new financial assistance program. ROADS focuses on helping people with disabilities reach financial well-being. With the help of a ROADS financial coach Paul completed the online health benefits application for the Delaware ASSIST program and was approved for Medicaid as of July 1st. “After I got my Medicaid card, a big weight was lifted off my shoulders because I knew I would be able to keep my tax refund. And now I can fall back on Medicaid if I need to go to the doctor. I don’t worry about my financial situation any more, now that I was able to receive assistance from the ROADS program. I would definitely recommend this program to others.”
